Downy is a 7 year old neutered male declawed kitty who has had a very rough day. He was saved at the last minute from euthanasia, long after the decision was made and the paperwork was signed. He’s a very sweet boy who spent all seven years of his life in a home where he was tolerated, not loved. He was going to be euthanized tonight because he’d been urinating outside the litterbox for a few days and his owner literally told me she didn’t love him. When I had the doctor examine him we saw that he’d been overgrooming on his belly, which is a sign of stress, so it’s most likely that his inappropriate elimination was a reaction to stress and therefore something that won’t continue in a new home. To be safe, I sent out some labwork tonight to make sure there isn’t a medical cause.
He has lived with cats, dogs, and children. He is declawed, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and FeLV/FIV negative. He has always lived as an indoor cat. He does have a grade 2/6 heart murmur, but is not on any medications. If anyone is interested in giving this sweetheart a home please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
